An electronic service that allows the beneficiary to file a patent application via the electronic system without the need to visit the SAIP's headquarters. A patent is an exclusive right granted for an invention, which is a product or a process that provides, in general, a new way of doing something, or offers a new technical solution to a problem. To get a patent, technical information about the invention must be disclosed to the public in a patent application.

Click on the service link
Go to the Patent Portal
Register as a new user
Press on apply a new request
Specify the type of application (patent)
Add all patent required information and attached required files
Pay for application invoice issued by the Electronic Service Portal system(SADAD)
Submit application request and track application through reference number

Create an account for Individuals, Organizations or Agents.

If the applicant is (an individual) - a new user - the registration is made via the National Access or through creating a new account at the registration portal in the SAIP Services.
If the applicant is (an agent/company) - a new user - the registration is made through creating a new account at the registration portal in the SAIP Services.

Login to the SAIP website, select Services, and click on Patent Service.
Login to the Patent Portal.
Create an account for Individuals, Organizations or Agents.
- If the applicant is (an individual) - a new user - the registration is made via the National Access or through creating a new account at the registration portal in the SAIP Services.
- If the applicant is (an agent/company) - a new user - the registration is made through creating a new account at the registration portal in the SAIP Services.
Login to the Service Platform through the One National Access/e-mail.
- If the applicant (individual) has an existing account, login is made via the One National Access or e-mail.
- If the applicant (agent/company) has an existing account, login is made via e-mail.
Choose to file a new application.
Download patent application templates (summary, full description, protection elements, drawings if any).
Select the type of application (patent).
Fill in the application data.
Attach the templates in their designated places.
An application invoice is issued. If paid, the application number and date of filing are issued.
