In addition, the National Tourism Monitoring Platform was launched, which contributes to monitoring developments and identifying promising opportunities in the market.
Saudi Arabia contributes to empowering investors by facilitating the obtaining of tourism licenses, while tourist attractions in the various provinces of Saudi Arabia are major attractions that contribute to enhancing domestic and foreign tourism. Through these initiatives, Saudi Arabia continues its commitment to developing tourism as a key pillar for achieving sustainable development and attracting global investments.

In alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to maximize the economic impact of open data, the Saudi Tourism Authority has provided open data through the open data portal on its website and through the national open data platform to enable stakeholders to use and benefit from it.
Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) began its journey with an ambitious vision towards regulating and developing the coastal tourism in the Red Seas Region in 2021, and it is one of the vision projects, and building a sustainable tourism economy that highlights the beauty of pristine nature, the authenticity of Saudi heritage and its rich culture. SRSA seeks to enhance integration between relevant entities by issuing licenses and permits, formulating policies and strategies, and developing supportive plans to achieve goals. SRSA also pays special attention to developing infrastructure to meet the needs of the sector and protecting the marine environment to ensure its sustainability. SRSA seeks to support small and medium enterprises and encourage maritime and tourism activities, which contributes to creating added value for the national economy and enhancing a unique global tourism experience.
Saudi Air Connectivity Program
The Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) was established in 2021 to streamline market entry and promote expansion opportunities for air travel partners in the Kingdom. Through the development of new routes, the Program aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in tourism air connectivity.
Tourism Law
As part of its efforts to enhance and develop the tourism sector, the Ministry of Tourism launched ten new regulations on 25/12/2022, aimed at effectively managing tourist destinations and hospitality facilities. These regulations aim to provide an attractive investment environment, focusing on ease of business, encouraging innovation and sustainability, while improving the quality of services provided and protecting tourists’ rights. The regulations also include regulating various tourism activities, adding new activities that enrich the tourism market, and setting special provisions for oversight and inspection to ensure the provision of high-quality services. Through these updates, the Ministry of Tourism aspires to support the tourism sector, create new job opportunities for the Saudi youth, and enhance the Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading tourist destination.
The Ministry called on personnel of the sector to adhere to the new regulations while engaging in tourism activities, in order to ensure the preservation of visitors’ rights and the provision of outstanding services, while avoiding statutory penalties and fines.

Visa Applications
Transit visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that enables transit visa applicants to obtain a Saudi transit visa without the need to visit the authority. It is available to applicants of any nationality and can be obtained using the Enjaz e-service visa platform. The transit visa allows individuals to pass through Saudi Arabia and is applicable for short stays of over 12 hours. Transit visas are issued within 48 and 96 hours.
The personal visit visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The personal visit visa allows individuals who have no business connections or family relationships with the originator to visit Saudi Arabia.
The medical treatment visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The medical treatment visa enables applicants to apply for a visit to Saudi Arabia for the purpose of treatment.
The Umrah visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Umrah visa enables beneficiaries from outside the Saudi Arabia to request an Umrah visa and review the application as well as it allows Saudi diplomatic missions abroad to issue online Umrah visas.
The business visit visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The business visit visa enables companies or institutions within Saudi Arabia to request a visit to one or more persons according to specific professional qualifications bound by business relations with the company that extended the invitation.
The residence visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The residence visa enables beneficiaries to enter their companions into Saudi Arabia without the need to visit the authority.
The work visit visa is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Ministry’s e-Visa Services website, which enables applicants the approval of two categories of visit visas. The first category is (individual) visits, which covers all visa services targeting individuals residing abroad who are looking to work in Saudi Arabia. The second category is (sectors and organizations) visits, which covers visa applications that focus on entry services related to agents and companies accredited to Saudi missions abroad.

Tourist Visa
Saudi Arabia is opening its doors to the world with a new tourist visa. Through the fast and easy-to-use e-portal, international visitors from 66 eligible countries can apply for an e-visa and discover the hospitality of the Saudi people, rich heritage, vibrant culture and diverse and breathtaking landscapes, from the mountains of Abha to the Red Sea beaches to the shifting sands in Al Rub’ Al Khali Region.
The e-visa will be a one-year multiple entry visa, allowing tourists to spend up to 90 days in Saudi Arabia. The tourist visa allows you to participate in tourism-related activities such as events, family and relatives visits, entertainment and Umrah (excluding Hajj) and excludes other activities such as study.

Tourists from 66 countries can obtain a tourist visa, which are:
- European countries
- Asian countries
- American countries
- Countries of Oceania
Issue the Tourist Visas:
Saudi Arabia facilitates the process of issuing tourist visas for tourists from all over the world in accordance with clear, easy and organized procedures.
- Tourists from eligible countries:
The tourist can apply for the visa through the electronic platform before traveling, or obtain it upon arrival from the visa offices of the Immigration Department in Saudi Arabia.
- Tourists from non-eligible countries:
The tourist must go to the Saudi missions abroad to complete the visa procedures.
- Special visa holders:
Holders of a valid visa for the United States, the United Kingdom, or the Schengen countries can apply for a tourist visa upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Falwa and Al-Jawhara Museum for Heritage
Al-Falwa and Al-Jawhara Museum for Heritage in Al-Nuzha contains an outstanding collection of rare collectibles, including an old copy of the Holy Qur’an dating back more than 500 years, in addition to classic cars, antique gramophones, and royal collectibles from the era of the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him. Oriental Art Exhibition (Urban Art)
In 2018, the Al-Bayouniah Historical Quarter experienced an unprecedented artistic transformation by a group of young Saudi artists, who added their creative touches to its streets to transform them into giant art paintings that embody the most beautiful art of drawing on the walls. Dawi Exhibition, and under the patronage of Princess Abeer bint Faisal Al Saud, organized an exhibition. During this exhibition, six traditional homes in the region into artistic paintings with bright colors, bold lines and abstract designs, giving the place a contemporary character that reflects the cultural and aesthetic diversity of the region.
Al-Taybeen Museum is located in Al Khobar, covering an area of 300 square meters, and reflects the desire of Majid Al-Ghamdi Foundation to preserve childhood possessions and nostalgia for the past. The museum includes more than 10,000 diverse items, including board games, video equipment, cameras, food and beverage containers, in addition to rare collectibles such as Coca-Cola containers that document its development since the seventies, and models of famous figures such as Sesame Street and Barbies, making the museum a unique journey to relive childhood memories and celebrate authenticity.
The Old Village is a unique tourist destination that offers a comprehensive experience that combines the authenticity of history with the splendor of Saudi hospitality. It is a five-levels building that includes a museum in which jewelry, manuscripts, rare fabrics and other artifacts are displayed, and a small market abounds with handicrafts, oriental perfumes, incense, and baskets made from palm.

At-Turaif District in Ad-Diriyah

It was enrolled in 2014, and includes the remains of the old wall of Jeddah, gates, districts, markets, and historical buildings.
It was enrolled in 2015, and includes rock engravings in Jubbah and Al-Shuwaymis dating back thousands of years.
It was enrolled in 2018, and is the largest palm oasis in the world, containing 2.5 million palm trees.
It was enrolled in 2021, and contains rock engravings dating back 7,000 years.

The Cultural Landscape of Al-Faw Archaeological Area
It was enrolled in 2024, and is one of the most important archaeological sites in Saudi Arabia.
This achievement contributed to enhancing the Saudi Arabia’s position on the cultural and tourism levels. This contributed to the selection of Al-Ahsa Governorate by the Council of Arab Ministers for Tourism to be the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2019 and introducing the rich heritage of the region.

It is located in Dumat al-Jandal in Al Jowf Province, and is one of the oldest mosques in Saudi Arabia.
- Sisira Well
It is located in Tabuk Province and is believed to date back to the Iron Age.
- Marid Castle
It is located in Dumat al-Jandal in Al Jowf Province, and dates back to the first century AD.

As part of the Ministry of Tourism’s efforts to enhance and develop the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia, the Digital Tourism Strategy was launched, which aims to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, by positioning Saudi Arabia among the most prominent global tourist destinations.

- Enriching the tourism sector: The strategy seeks to rebuild the tourism sector in innovative ways, taking advantage of modern digital technologies to improve the tourist experience and facilitate access to tourism services.

As part of the Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance digital transformation in the tourism sector, the Ministry of Tourism launched the Digital Tourism Strategy, which includes 9 programs and 31 initiatives, to be implemented over 3 years, with the aim of developing a smart work environment that supports the digital transformation journey in the sector, and provides a comprehensive platform that meets all requirements, namely:

Digital Tourism Strategy Framework
The strategy framework includes developing a flexible and effective system that supports the sector’s digital transformation journey and contributes to adopting a culture of innovation. The World Tourism Organization (WTO), the World Bank, and digital partners such as Microsoft and Cisco supported the strategy.
The strategy was developed in alignment and coordination with the Digital Government Authority and the Digital Transformation Unit and reviewed through an advisory board of 22 global digital transformation and tourism experts.
The strategy works to adopt innovative digital business models that will contribute to raising demand for tourism services, including:

Virtual Tour Strategy for the National Museum
The museum’s virtual tour is designed with modern technologies that enhance virtual reality, and with an electronic application available for smartphones and tablets. This tour provides a realistic simulation of the museum experience, where visitors can move in the corridors, explore the sections, and view the artifacts in great detail. The application supports audio content that comprehensively describes the artifacts, along with rich visual displays that highlight related information. The virtual tour also provides a space to contemplate and interact with the artifacts by reading a text describing each piece.
The "Virtual Tour of the National Museum" platform is the first Arabic platform that provides the user with interactive content that helps facilitate the orthographic conversion of ancient Arabic writings with the Arabic language, which in turn helps in increase the knowledge enrichment of ancient Arabic writings in the Arabian Peninsula.
