Riyadh, SPA: Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired here Monday afternoon a meeting of the Cabinet. At the beginning of the meeting, on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince expressed the warm welcome of the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the leaders of Arab countries and all the invitees to the Arab economic and social development summit, to be hosted by the Kingdom on next Monday and Tuesday in the city of Riyadh, praying Allah Almighty to crown the efforts of the leaders of the Arab countries with success to serve the Arab common interests. The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, in a statement to Saudi Press Agency, after the session, said that the Cabinet wished success to members of Majlis Al-Shura at its 6th session, which included the participation of women as members of the Majlis along the lines of the provisions of the Islamic Sharia, stressing that entry of women in Majlis Al-Shura as issued by the royal order of the King represents an important contribution to the work of the Majlis Al-Shura in the Kingdom and a broad spectrum of choice to give the Majlis a large domain in the direction of positive and continuing diversity for the fact that women have in their field, interest and specialization with a vision worthy of benefits from it to contribute to the activation of the national decision. The Cabinet also expressed its appreciation of all blessed efforts of the former members of the Majlis Al-Shura. The Cabinet also touched on the Kingdom's attractive economic environment and investments and the current fiscal year (1434/1435 H) budget's continued spending on programs and projects in support of the march of development and progress, for the service of the homeland and the citizens, the provision of more job opportunities and improvement of the services offered to citizens, stressing that the Kingdom's enjoyment of the security and stability is due to the grace of Allah Almighty and then to the wise policy pursued by the Government of the Kingdom. The Minister said that the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments in the region and the world, and stressed in this regard the importance of supporting international efforts to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people to save their blood and maintain the security, stability and unity of the Syrian territories and their independence and sovereignty. The Cabinet also emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to assist Syrian displaced people and refugees and end their sufferings, especially after the wave of snow and hail in the region. The Cabinet appreciated the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to provide urgently emergency relief assistance worth $ 10 million for the displaced Syrians in Jordan , as an addition and support for Saudi National Campaign to Support the Brothers in Syria, and in addition to what the Kingdom has announced in Marrakech conference for providing $ 100 million as aid to the Syrian people. The Cabinet commended in this context, the outcomes of the emergency meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Arab League, which was held in Cairo yesterday. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja added that the Cabinet continued the discussion of its agenda and issued the following decisions: First: The Cabinet approved the reconstitution of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Company for Development and Urban Development for a period of three years as follows: First: representatives of governmental departments: 1 - Dr. Hani bin Mohammed Abu Ras, Mayor of Jeddah, Chairman of the Board. 2 - Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Dahmash, Representative of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Member. 3 - Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khudairi, Representative of the Governorate of Makkah region, Member. 4 - Abdulaziz bin Saad Al-Ghamdi, Representative of the Ministry of Finance, Member 5 - Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, Representative of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Member. 6 - Dr. Riad bin Kamal Najm, Representative of the Ministry of Culture and Information, Member. Second: Member-Representatives of the private sector: 1 - Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Issa. 2 - Eng. Mohamed bin Hassan Abu Dawood. 3 - Amr bin Hassan Anani. 4 - Abdullah bin Hassan Qanzal. 5 - Emad bin Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib. Second: The Cabinet approved the United Nations Convention against Corruption, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in its resolution No. (58/4) and dated 31/10/2003. Third: After review of the report by the Minister of Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Irrigation and Drainage in Al-Ahsa, the Cabinet decided to approve the restructuring of the Board of Directors, referred to for three years starting from the date of this resolution. It shall be chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and shall have the membership of: 1 - Director General of Irrigation and Drainage Authority in Ahsa, 2 - Eng. Saeed Bin Ali Al-Da'air as a representative of the Ministry of Water and Electricity, 3 - Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Zaraah of King Faisal University, 4 - Eng. Saleh Bin Hassan Al-Afaleq from the private sector, 5 - Eng. Ahmad Bin Nasser Al-Ajaji from the private sector. Fourth: After a review of the report by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Commission's board of directors and after consideration of the Majlis Al-Shura resolution No. (87/39) dated on 07/07/1433 AH, the Cabinet decided to approve the amendment of articles (first, thirty seventh, and thirty eighth) of the communication regulation issued by Royal Decree No. (M / 12) dated on 12/03/1422 AH, to become as described in detail in the decision. Fifth: The Cabinet decided to approve the final account of the Electricity and Co-generation Regulatory Authority for the fiscal year (1431/1432 AH). The Cabinet approved appointments as follows: 1 - Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed bin Jamal Marghalani, Undersecretary for Planning and Health Economics at the Ministry of Health (rank 15). 2 - Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Junaidel, Director General of Central Department for Organization and Administration at the Ministry of Finance (rank 14). 3 - Ali bin Abdullah bin Omar Al-Omar, Administrative Advisor at Supreme Council of Magistracy (rank 14). The Cabinet also discussed a number of topics on its agenda, including an annual follow-up report of the Institute of Public Administration on Eight Development Five-Year Plan, and an annual report of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta.
