Domestic helpers by-laws issued

Minister of Labor commented on the recently approved domestic helpers by-laws. Composed of 23 Articles, the new by-laws identifies the rights and duties of both parties. Penalties will be imposed on violations by either party. According to the new rule, a new domestic helper shall be subject to a three month probation period. On the other hand the domestic helper is entitled to minimum nine hours rest per day, one day rest per week, decent accommodation and prompt payment of monthly salary, paid sick leave and one month paid biannual vacation.
