Riyadh, SPA: Eng. Abdulatif bin Abdul Malik Al-Sheikh MOMRA minister announced results of the third municipal elections one day after ballot is completed in 1296 precincts. 702,542 male and female voters casted their votes representing 47.4% of the registered potential voters. 2106 were the successful male and female candidates. His excellency expressed thanks to the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz for supporting and patronizing the election process to ensure maximum transparency and accuracy. Al-Sheikh extended his thanks to all government agencies and committees that contributed to the preparations of the elections process. He commended the awareness efforts made by media channels and their coverage of the elections in all phases. His excellency lauded the objective interaction of the citizens both as candidates and as voters. Eng. Al-Sheikh said: “ I am pleased to congratulate the winning candidates wishing them every success in the light of the recent developments with respect to responsibilities and tasks of the municipal councils. I hope they will help municipal resources perform their tasks and responsibilities to reflect the qualitative shift in all development programs”. At the end of his statement, His Excellency prayed to Allah Almighty to perpetuate security, prosperity and stability of this country under the wise leadership of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, his faithful Crown Prince and deputy Crown Prince.
