King asks scholars to help find solutions to people's problems

Makkah, SPA:Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region, opened here yesterday a conference on "Muslim World... Issues and Solutions" which is organized by the Muslim World League (MWL).Upon his arrival at the venue, Prince Khalid was received by MWL Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki.The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja and a number of scholars and officials.Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's speech was delivered on his behalf by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region.The king's speech focused on highlighting Saudi Arabia's efforts in the field of fighting terrorism by adopting Islam's moderation.The king's speech called for dealing with the problem of Ignorance about Islam by spreading awareness about the sound course of Islam; the application of the great moderation of Islam in all fields of life; setting out practical mechanisms for the unity of Muslims; and activation of common action and contact among the nation's leaders, its scholars and intellectuals and cooperation for tackling problems and achieving reform through Islamic solutions and visions.The king also called for cooperation by the Muslim World League and intellectuals in all Muslim countries to formulate an Islamic working program for tackling the problems of the nation; immunizing its peoples against the dangers of invasion from abroad and the consequences of ignorance domestically and supporting Islamic unity.
