Prince Fahd bin Sultan Witnesses the Signing of Contract for Public Transport Project Using Buses in Tabuk

Tabuk, SPA: The Governor of Tabuk Region, Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, attended the ceremony of signing the contract for the public transport project using buses in Tabuk. This undertaking is the first public transport project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in which 25% of the total buses used are environmentally friendly electric buses. The project includes four lanes extending over 128 kilometers, with 106 stops distributed along the routes. The project will employ 23 diesel buses and seven electric buses operated by 90 drivers, with an operating time of up to 18 hours per day. CEO of Public Transport at the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO), Turki Al-Subaihi, and the Mayor of Tabuk Region, Eng. Hossam Al-Yousef signed the contract in the presence of Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, the Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Transport General Authority. Prince Fahd noted the unremitting support the Saudi leadership had given the transport and logistics sector in the Kingdom. He stressed the city's keenness to improve the quality of life and provide an effective and sustainable public transport system. He also expressed his keenness to improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and provide multiple transportation options for the city's residents and visitors.
